FAQs

What is cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is the local or general use of low temperatures in medical therapy. Its goal is to increase cellular survival, decrease inflammation, decrease pain and spasm, and promote constriction of blood vessels.

What is cryotherapy chamber?

A cryosauna (cryochamber) is a device used in therapeutic treatment with cold, cryotherapy. The cryosauna is a single-person cryogenic chamber used for individual treatments of Whole Body Cryotherapy. Its main purpose lies in strengthening the immune system of the human body.

What do I wear during treatment?

During the treatment, clients wear minimal protective clothing (gloves, socks, and cotton underwear). When you arrive for your treatment, we will supply you with a robe, socks, slippers and gloves. You will be able to change in one of our dressing rooms and keep all your personal belongings.

How does whole body cryotherapy work?

As you enter the cryosauna/cryochamber, the sudden drop in heat stimulates the temperature receptors, prompting the brain to transmit messages throughout the body. When you exit the chamber blood is pumped vigorously around the body, which in turn enhances the oxygen supply and removal of toxins. The cold also triggers the nervous system to release feel- good endorphins plus the body natural anti-inflammatory reaction to extreme cold results in a pain reduction.

Who shouldn't use cryotherapy?

Anyone who is pregnant, has severe, unmanaged hypertension (BP> 180/100), has a cardiac pacemaker, is being treated for cancer, has deep vein thrombosis, acute or recent myocardial infarction, uncontrolled seizures, fever, unstable angina pectoris, Raynaud’s syndrome, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases, open wounds or ulcers, and is under influence of drugs or alcohol.
